Dr. Schauss has over 30 years of experience working with children, teenagers, and adults. He has a special interest in working with young children exhibiting emotional and behavioral disorders and providing a type of intensive behavior therapy referred to as Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT is an evidence-based treatment shown to be effective with children ages 2 to 7 struggling with anger and aggression, anxiety, oppositional behavior, and other challenging and disruptive behaviors.
He specializes in working with people with ADD/ADHD, Adjustment Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Disruptive Mood Dysregulation Disorder, oppositional behavior, Depression, fears/phobias, and medical issues contributing to psychological functioning.
Dr. Schauss provides telehealth services to children, families, and adults from a behavior analytic perspective utilizing Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Functional Analytic Psychotherapy (FAP), and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) models of treatment.
He is licensed to practice psychology in Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and North Carolina and granted authority to practice interjurisdictional telepsychology (APIT) from the PSYPACT Commission which currently includes 39 states.
